Front Crawl

The following instructional videos show various progressions and teaching strategies with Autistic and CD students.

This video shows students performing flutter kicks with the use of a kickboard and flotation device. No upper arm movement is being performed.

This video shows students performing the arm movement of the front crawl. Students are using a flotation device and a kickboard to help them with the reaching of the arm. The adapted physical education teacher uses the teaching cue “reach and pull” when refering to the arm movement of the front crawl.

These two videos show students performing the front crawl with the use of a flotation device around the waste. No kickboard is used.
